Step 3 - Private Sequencing Clinic

Sequencing is an extremely important foundation of your training. It includes efficient tool and equipment management during trimming; effective and humane horse handling and communication skills; and optimal body positioning of the horse, trimmer and (if participating) handler. Sequencing, in other words, includes those strategically important things that we do that are supportive of the trimmer’s efforts to trim the horse. Sequencing in so important in its own right that it is taught separately from trimming until such time that the student is sufficiently skilled and prepared to bring both together. I am offering this clinic separate from my combined Step 2/3 Clinic, if additional days are needed. This clinic is a prerequisite to advancing to Step 4.

Requirements: All students must have completed previous ISNHCP Steps 1-2. Students must bring all required tools and equipment.

Location & Itinerary:
We will start each day in Trevor, WI and head to a couple locations to work a whole day with a variety of horses.

Cost:
$250 per day. Use the PayPal button below to pre-pay for a Private Step 3 Clinic with Paige.

Step 4 - Live Horse Trim Clinic

This is a one-on-one training session with your clinician. The purpose of this clinic is twofold: 1) to provide you with sufficient experience and confidence that you can begin practicing on your own or friends' horses, and 2) to prepare you for your Step 5 Field Mentorships.

Requirements: All students must have completed previous ISNHCP Steps 1-3. Students must bring all required tools and equipment.

Location & Itinerary: We will start each day in Trevor, WI and head to a couple locations to work a whole day with a variety of horses.

Cost: $250 group, $500 private, per day. Use the PayPal button below to pre-pay for a Step 4 Clinic with Paige.

Step 5 - Field Mentorships

Following successful completion of the Step 4 Live Horse Trim Clinic, and approval by the ISNHCP of the Step 4 Video Evaluation, students will move forward to the Step 5 Field Mentorship phase of their training program. Field Instructors will take you into the field to trim on client, or in some cases their own, horses. All students must initially complete at least (a minimum) 10 field mentorships (10 days of training on live horses) with at least three different AANHCP Certified NHC Field Instructors, and no more than four mentorships with one Field Instructor. Step 5 is an extremely important phase of your training as it exposes you to real life situations -- dealing with scheduling, clients, and horses you know nothing about. Step 5 encompasses all that you've learned to date and is the final preparation before you take the field alone as an ISNHCP student practitioner.

Requirements:
All students must have completed previous ISNHCP Steps 1-2. Students must bring all required tools and equipment.

Location & Itinerary:
We will start each day in Trevor, WI and head to various locations to work a whole day with a variety of horses.

Cost:
$200 per day. Use the PayPal button below to pre-pay for a Private Step 5 Field Mentorship with Paige.

Step 6 - Student Practitioner, Level 1: Final Field Exam

Following the successful completion of your 10th mentorship, the Field Instructor will advise the ISNHCP if the you are ready to take your Student Practitioner final exams which consist of a Final Written Exam followed by a Final Field Exam. The final exams should be scheduled as soon as possible after your final field mentorship but no more than 30 days following the last field mentorship unless special recommendations or other arrangements are made in advance with the ISNHCP. To schedule your final exam, you must forward to (naturestouchnhc@gmail.com), the ISNHCP email confirmation that you've successfully met the Step 5 Mentorship requirement. I will not conduct this exam until I have received this from you. It is also advised you complete your written exam before scheduling your Final Field Exam.

Travel Info

Airports: General Mitchell International Airport (Milwaukee) - approx 40 min drive to my location & O'Hare International Airport (Chicago) - approx 50 min drive on the toll road to my location. I reccomend flying into Milwaukee as it is the closest and easiest to travel to, Chicago is a much busier airport. Sometimes your flight will be a little cheaper flying into Chicago if you don't mind the large city!
